Key Design Elements: 2N Generator and UPS, ICT, and electronic security.

The Data Centre facility for this organisation was filled to capacity. The power and air-conditioning
infra-structure was utilised which passed the maximum recommended usage. In order to relieve the short-term pressure, a new computer room was added to the facility. This provided additional computer room space whilst the main Data Centre infra-structure was upgraded to provide dual paths for the emergency and UPS power [A and B stream]. Furthermore, the single points of failure in the air-conditioning system were eliminated by installing two independent air conditioning solutions; each capable of servicing the entire facility.

The ultimate challenge was that the entire upgrade had to be expedited without impacting the Data Centre and no shut downs taking place. This was achieved with careful planning and eliminating or reducing all risks as identified.
