Key Design Elements: First 6 Star rated Building in Africa

The first Six Star Green Rated Building on the African Continent, the Vodafone Site Solutions Innovation Centre is a “state of the art” facility, located at the Vodacom Campus in Midrand. The centre is powered by the sun in a battery-free set-up. In sunny conditions, the rooftop based PV array powers the building, whilst excess power is reticulated back to Vodacom’s internal low voltage grid. A full LED lighting solution, in conjunction with an automated lighting control system ensures the power required to lighten the building is kept to an absolute minimum.
